2nd Annual Worker-to-Worker Solidarity Delegation
April 27- May 4, 2000

The Mexico Solidarity Network sponsors its second annual
worker-to-worker solidarity delegation April 27- May 4, 2000. Delegates
will take part in a bi-national worker solidarity conference organized
by the Authentic Workers Front (F.A.T.), one of Mexico's largest
independent industrial-sector unions. The objective of the conference is
to build links between Mexican independent labor organizations and
Chicano communities in the US. The conference will also for workers and
labor activists to discuss the effects of NAFTA, labor's impact on the
upcoming presidential elections in both countries, and immigration.

On May 1, the delegation, as they did last year--will join tens of
thousands of F.A.T.-affiliated workers in their annual Mayday march in
Mexico City. Delegates will then travel to the Conheladora del Rio plant
to meet with striking workers, entering their 5th month, who are
demanding F.A.T. representation and collective bargaining rights.

This delegation is an excellent opportunity to make organizing headway
in the effort toward bi-national worker solidarity and learn first-hand
about the Mexican independent labor movement in the era of NAFTA.

The cost for the delegation is $450 plus airfare. This cost includes
most meals, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and the cost of
the conference. Scholarships are available for students and low-income
workers of color under age 30.

The Mexico Solidarity Network is a US-based coalition of 85 community,
church and labor-based organizations dedicated to bi-national struggles
for democracy, social and economic justice and workers' rights. For more
