Leaders congratulate General Giap on 90th birthday

Many leaders of the Party and State came to congratulate General Vo Nguyen
Giap on his 90th birthday.

President Tran Duc Luong, who was in the Republic of Korea for an official
friendship visit, on August 24, sent a basket of flowers and congratulations
to General Giap.

National Assembly chairman and Politburo member Nguyen Van An called on
General Giap on August 25. He said he wished General Giap the best of
health, longevity and further contributions to the revolutionary cause of
the Party and people during the national construction, defence and
renovation.

The same day, former General Secretary and former advisor to the Party
Central Committee Do Muoi also visited Mr Giap on his birthday.

Former Prime Minister and former advisor to the Party Central Committee Vo
Van Kiet, from Ho Chi Minh City, sent flowers to General Giap.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh called on to congratulate General Giap on
August 24.
