Pakistan Refuses Bodies of Dead Combatants Via NY Transfer News * All the News That Doesn't Fit Gulf News Online Pakistan not to accept dead bodies By Nissar Hoath Chaman, Balochistan, Nov 5--Authorities on the Afghan border have placed a ban on allowing into the country the bodies of those Pakistani Jihadis who have died on Afghanistan's frontlines. The ban, according to a senior border official, was imposed a week ago on instructions from Islamabad. "Since the ban, five bodies of Jihadis have been refused entry to Pakistan and were sent back to Afghanistan at Spin Boldak," said the official, who wished not to be named. Among the bodies sent back were that of two teenagers from Karachi and three from Quetta. "We have been receiving four to five bodies of young Pakistanis who have died in the Afghan war every week before the ban. Just before the ban, eight bodies were brought here in a single week. They included four teenagers from Chaman, two from Pishin and two from Karachi," he told Gulf News, adding that most the dead were between 18 and 25 years old. On Saturday night, the authorities denied entry of two bodies, both of teenagers. One of them, Mohammed Issa Barech, was a Quetta resident, the other from Karachi. Similarly on Friday night, three more bodies - one of a Karachi resident and two of Quetta residents - were also denied entry and turned back to Taliban authorities. The bodies, which were allowed entry just before the ban, were of Noor Ahmed Karam, Salahuddin Fazle, Naseebullah, son of Inayatullah, Mohammed Yousuf, son of Sultan (all from the Achakzai tribe in Chaman) and two unidentified residents of Pishin. All six, according to officials, were between 18 and 20 years old and were buried the next day. http://www.gulf-news.com/Articles/news.asp?ArticleID=31499 (c) Al Nisr Publishing LLC - Gulf News Online ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us 339 Lafayette St., New York, NY 10012 http://www.blythe.org e-mail: nyt@blythe.org ================================================================= nytas-11.05.01-06:58:17-13589
