Rosemary Nelson Murder: Man Arrested Via NY Transfer News * All the News That Doesn't Fit source - Jay Dooling Rosemary Nelson Murder: Man Arrested PA 11/07/01 05:34 Copyright 2001 PA News By Deric Henderson, PA News Detectives investigating the murder of Northern Ireland human rights lawyer Rosemary Nelson today arrested a man near Bristol. The man, 29, was detained at Burnham-on-Sea, according to a spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary. The inquiry is being headed by the deputy Chief Constable of the force, Colin Port. Mrs Nelson died when a loyalist booby trap bomb exploded under her car outside her home in Lurgan, Co Armagh, in March l999. A spokesman confirmed the man detained today was being questioned about alleged terrorist offences. He is being held at a police station in England. The mid-Ulster based Loyalist Volunteer Force, a breakaway paramilitary organisation, carried out the bombing, but nobody has yet been charged with Mrs Nelson's murder. The man detained today comes from Portadown, Co Armagh, but had been living in England for sometime. It is understood he was detained by police on his way through Aldergrove Airport, Co Antrim, two weeks ago and questioned about the non-payment of fines for motoring offences.
