35TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION & CONFERENCE, BLACK PANTHER PARTY
OCTOBER 11-14, 2001, UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON, DC

October 2001, marks the 35th Anniversary of the founding of the Black
Panther party for Self Defense. All former Panthers, community workers and
current and former activists in the cause of social justice are invited to
attend the 35th Anniversary Reunion and Conference. This event will take
place October 11-14, 2001 at the University of Washington DC 

The Conference will feature workshops designed formulate strategies to
obtain freedom for political prisoners, combat police brutality, gain
reparations for the descendants of African slaves in the United States, and
remunerate the victims of COINTELPRO. For a complete schedule and list of

It is imperative that older more experienced activists share their 
knowledge and experience with young, enthusiastic activists of today. It 
is vital that isolated activists in related fields come together to share 
creative and practical resources in the fight for social justice. The 
35th Anniversary and Conference is designed to do just this. For more

This event is sponsored by the It's About Time Committee, based in 
Sacramento, CA. The It's About Time Committee is comprised of former 
members of the Black Panther Party and its supporters. The committee 
publishes a quarterly newsletter which is available on line at 
www.itsabouttimebpp.com. We are holding a writing contest as part of 
our fundraising efforts for this event; details are available at the web 
site. 

The It's About Time Committee is a 501(c)3 non-profit 
corporation. Donations are tax-exempt and can be made to help sponsor 
the Reunion and Conference, or to help with publication of the newsletter 
or Books Behind Bars, a program which sends books to prisoners 
incarcerated within the United States.
