Britain to fund Jaffna NGOs directly

The British government will donate funds for minor reconstruction work
and small development projects directly to NGOs and other social
service organisations in Jaffna, said the British High Commissioner in
Colombo. Mr. David Tatham gave an exclusive interview to the Tamil
daily 'Virakesari' on Thursday.

Wounded soldiers condemn Sri Lanka's war

Speaking at a public meeting held in the Ampara town hall recently,
Commander H.K Dayaratne, president of the association representing the
permanently wounded soldiers of the Sri Lankan army, condemned Sinhala
politicians for opportunistically seeking political advantage by
carrying on with the war in the Tamil homelands.
