Hessy Phelan update Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News that Doesn't Fit Wed, 12 Nov 1997 05:40:42 IRSP Here's the latest on Hessy Phelan's case. Hessy is an ex-volunteer of the Irish National Liberation Army who was murdered by an off-duty New York police officer. Yesterday (Thurs. Nov. 13), 5 appelate judges unanimously reinstated the indictment against Police Officer Richard Molloy. They had a hearing on Sept. 23 that led to them reviewing the evidence, which Judge Tonetti initially said did not justify "depraved indifference" by Molloy. No date has been set for the trial yet. The Assistant District Attorney called Hessy's mother to give her the good news.
