Ireland: Letter Bomb Defused/IAIS Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News that Doesn't Fit LETTER BOMB DEFUSED 10/16/97 14:12 EST A letter bomb has been sent to the offices of Ulster Unionist leader, David Trimble in Lurgan, Co Armagh. It arrived in the morning post. British army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene and defused the device which was described as being crude but capable of causing serious injury. A number of homes and businesses have also been evacuated in nationalist West Belfast in a bomb scare.
