Mr. McLaughlin said: "Ian Paisley is reverting to his timeworn tactics of whipping up sectarian hatred within that fundamentalist section of unionism which is determined to maintain the discrimination, inequality and domination which were the founding principles of this statelet. With his new found partner, Bob McCartney, they are once more appealing to the fascist tendencies which the politics of domination fosters. As with his past forays into this sort of scaremongering, Ian Paisley will step back from responsibility for the consequences of his actions. He will once more distance himself from the gullible people who listen to his gospel of hate and then go out and perpetrate sectarian attacks on the nationalist population and its property." Mr. McLaughlin concluded: "David Trimble cannot stand by and allow his silence to be interpreted as approval. If he claims to represent Unionism then it is incumbent on him to show leadership and confront this fascism now before it once more runs out of control." ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us 339 Lafayette St., New York, NY 10012 http://www.blythe.org e-mail: nyt@blythe.org ================================================================= nytire-10.01.97-14:46:31-6246
