from IAIS: MAN ABDUCTED IN DERRY Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News that Doesn't Fit MAN ABDUCTED IN DERRY 10/24/97 14:32 EST A hunt has been launched for a man abducted from his home in Derry today by a armed and masked gang. The RUC (Royal Ulster Constabulary) says Adrian Ward (47) was abducted from his home by a gang of five masked men, one of whom is believed to have been armed with a gun. They forced their way into his house shortly after 10.00 PM last night while he was at work. They waited with his wife and four young children until he returned home from work at around 7.15 this morning. The gang then tied his hands behind his back and forced him into a car. The RUC says there has been no contact with him since and they are concerned for his safety. Meanwhile, the RUC in Derry has discovered two guns in a car stopped at a checkpoint today in the Creggan.
