Dana" LVF THREATEN 'UNHOLY WAR' 02/02/98 12:41 EST The Loyalist Volunteer Force today threatened to launch an "unholy war" against Catholics unless a death threat against members of Billy Wright's family is lifted. The warning came in a statement made with a recognised codeword to three Belfast newsrooms this afternoon. The group - which has already killed up to 10 Catholics - claimed the RUC visited Wright's relatives twice and told them they were on a death list. It called on republicans to distance themselves from the threats. LVF leader Wright was shot dead in the Maze Prison on December 27 by the Irish National Liberation Army. Since then loyalists have shot dead eight Catholics. The Irish American Information Service is a non-profit organization providing up-to-the-minute political news from Ireland to the world.
