PGJE Announces Police Operation in El Bosque

The Attorney General of Chiapas, Eduardo Montoya Lievano, announced the
carrying out of a police operation in the municipality of El Bosque, as a
precaution against a purported take-over of the mayoralty by indigenous
EZLN and PRD sympathizers.  It was confirmed at midnight in the Attorney
General's office that the operation during the early hours of this morning
[4/20] would be led by the Assistant Prosecutor for the Northern region,
Jaime Humberto Lastra, and the Commander of the State Judicial Police,
Sabino Aguilar Ramirez.  The departure was also confirmed, a short time
previously, of two Public Security trucks from Tuxtla Gutierrez to El
Bosque.

According to the PGJE, zapatista sympathizers and PRD's from Simojovel,
Huitiupan and El Bosque will be planning a demonstration in order to take
over the mayoralty.  "The police will be moving as a precaution against any
attempt to occupy the [municipal] presidency's office."
