US-made, client-state Indonesia has a lot of duties to perform for the White House and its corporations. One was to invade East Timor to take control of the known large oil- deposits under the Timor Sea. Britain and Australia have a share. The death count after the invasion and 6 months of pacification was some 600,000 souls. This morning's BBC report stated that the Indonesian army, understanding local people's culture was able to wipe out whole family units -from the grandparents to all descendants and attached family. 5 Australian ABC journalists were shot. That was in the time when Australians imagined that we had some standing. Another US problem was to get the UN to agree with the invasion. But that was refused. Indonesian annexation still has no legal basis. Another 'Indo' duty was to invade New Guinea which after consul- tation with Australia and the very corrupted Papua NG governments, the world saw another map change. The Western half -which contained the very rich mountains of US Freeport copper and gold mine- and the Eastern Papua NewGuinea. The Indonesian army slaughtered thousands of simple farming people and destroyed the fishing, drinking, cultivat- ion, forestry uses of the rivers, with cyanide poisoning. Next was the US/UK weapons supplies for Indonesian annexation of the Aceh US-oil and gold areas of Sumatra. Scores of Aceh people are still being shot each day. The people, as in E.Timor have no similar culture to those of Indonesia. And you can't fight automatic rifles with bows and arrows. US appointed Indonesian General Suharto has earned his $50 billion rewards without problems. The money is stashed away with Filipino US- General Marcos's hoards in US banks and Swiss banks with no memory. So it is, that in this morning's Sydney Morning Herald, Indonesian President Habibie said two days ago, that he wants a pro-Indonesia Australia, the US, Japan, the Philippines and "Germany-representing the European Union"-(not the UN) to be involved in preparing a ballot and monitor the expected vote in July or August. These are the people who are past or present imperialists. Canberra's wooden representat- ive welcomed the invitation. In New York, UN officials 'briefed' an Australian delegation about the plans to monitor the vote. In the meantime the honest documentary by our ABC TV has camera detail of the daily systematic slaughter and rape of anyone in dozens of villages, if they admit they will vote for freedom from this Indo culture. They and their addresses have been marked for death, which reminds us of the CIA assisted Indonesian killing of up to 700,000 poor farmers and left-wing or budding communists or Chinese shopkeepers in 1965. Is this why the EU nations have joined NATO -just to be made rich by a 'serial butcher' which changes things -but always for profit?
