Million Youth March Vs Giuliani & NYPD THE TRIAL BEGINS

Thursday, June 10, 1999 at 9am
Manhattan Criminal Court

PRESS CONFERENCE AT 12:30PM

New York - The Million Youth March Vs Giuliani & NYPD trial begins on
Thursday, June 10, 1999 at 9am in Part 51, Room 1324 at 100 Centre Street, 
in the courtroom of Judge Michael Obus.   Attorneys Roger Wareham, Anthony 
Mack, Tony McClary and Malik Shabazz of Washington DC (National Youth 
Coordinator of the Million Youth March),  will defend Shaheed Muhammed and 
Patrice Peterson on charges stemming from the aggressive police attack on 
the Million Youth March on September 5, 1998 witnessed by ten of thousands 
of MYM participants and millions of television viewers.

Attorney Roger Wareham stated the "all those who were outraged at the
gestapo-like paramilitary tactics used by Mayor Giuliani's police department 
during the Million Youth March, must come out to support these young men and 
witness  these proceedings to ensure that justice is served."

A press conference will be held at 12:30pm in front of the Manhattan 
Criminal Court Building.  Statements will be made by MYM Convener Dr. 
Khallid Muhammed, Attys Roger Wareham and Malik Shabazz, MYM Black Power 
Committee organizers from around the country, and others
