Boat Rally to Baracoa, Cuba - 2003 Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News That Doesn't Fit TrawlerWorld list - Sep 11, 2002 http://lists.samurai.com/mailman/listinfo/trawler-world-list Boat Rally to Baracoa 2003 The St. Augustine-Baracoa Friendship Association is planning a boat rally to Baracoa, Cuba in March and/or May 2003. Baracoa Cuba is located on the North East coast of Cuba and is Cuba's oldest city. Our Association has something similar to a sister city relationship with Baracoa. The May rally will likely be held in conjunction with the annual Key West to Cuba Sailing Race. An earlier rally, so far consisting of two Monk trawlers, are planning on leaving Key West for Havana during the first week of March. After arriving in Havana, participants would secure their boats at Hemingway Marina and fly to Baracoa for four or seven days of exploration and friendship building. The St. Augustine-Baracoa Friendship Association is a non-profit, non-religious, and non-political organization holding a US Treasury Department License permitting membership travel to Cuba. You can discover more about the trip and our group at www.staugustine-baracoa.org (Open the committees link and look for the rally page.) Each of the groups sponsored by the Friendship Association will be limited to about a dozen visitors. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Jim Raffini at raffini @ aug.com -- J.
