Gush Shalom http://www.gush-shalom.org/english/index.html is an Israeli peace organization whose work has taken on added significance since the collapse of much of the rest of the Israeli peace movement. Gush Shalom consists of a number of activists including Uri Avneri, former Irgun fighter and decorated veteran of the 1948 Israeli War of Independence. They've demonstrated an unusual willingness to question the entrenched historical narratives and failed positions of the past. Al-Mezan Centre for Human Rights http://www.mezan.org/ is a Palestinian organization whose many facets include legal assistance and advocacy; actively monitoring and documenting activities related to the human rights conditions in Jaballa Camp and throughout the Gaza Strip; monitoring the decisions and actions of the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority for their impact on the political, social, economic and civil rights of the Palestinian people; and preparing and producing regular studies and reports analyzing various issues related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the development of democracy within the autonomous Palestinian areas. Taayoush is a small organization made up of both Israelis and Palestinians.
