[The only hope of ending the hegemony of the One Behemoth Superpower
is for the rest of the world to join together, stand up to the bully
and face it down. That is beginning to happen around the world.

Latin American governments may want to capitulate to the USA's
threats and promises, but its population will likely not lie down and
accept the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas, or surrender forever
to World Bank and IMF-decreed structural adjustment programs.

Europe, whose people know what war is about (unlike the USA, which
only got a small taste of it on 911) is already beginning to balk at
Bush Junior's Movable Feast of Perpetual War Crusade, now that nearly
4,000 Afghan civilians have been slaughtered, the "evil-doers" (the
USA's former pals and trainees) are nowhere to be found, and central
Asia is dangerously destabilized.

And finally, irony of ironies, China -- newly re-certified as worthy
of US trade-partner status by the illegal occupant of the White House
-- is massing troops on its border with India and Pakistan and has
signed a friendship treaty with its old nemesis Russia, the former
USSR. Achieving One World Government is apparently a little more
complicated than Dim Son and his henchmen thought it was going to

China hails Russia's ratification of bilateral treaty

BEIJING, Dec 28 (PTI)--China has hailed Russia's ratification of a
landmark bilateral treaty that calls for "eternal friendship and
non-enmity" between the two strategic partners.

"Under the complex current international situation, the Sino-Russian 
good-neighbourly treaty of friendship and cooperation will promote the 
steady progress of the two nations' relations and contribute to world 
peace and development," Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue 
said on Thursday.

She said China was pleased to note that the Russian state Duma 
overwhelming approved the treaty on Wednesday. It mirrors the sincere 
aspiration of the Russian people to develop the good-neighbourly 
relations of friendship and cooperation between China and Russia, she added.

China ratified the treaty in October this year.

The treaty, signed on July 16 by Chinese President Jiang Zemin and his 
Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, essentially deals with the "eternal 
friendship and non- enmity" between the two countries and their peoples, 
Zhang said.

"As a document guiding the growth of bilateral ties, the treaty has 
abandoned the outdated practice of state relations during the cold war 
era -- alliance or confrontation -- and injected into the Sino-Russian 
relations the qualities of non-alliance, non-confrontation and not 
targeting a third party," she said.

"The treaty has set an example for the international community, that is, 
seeking security through mutual trust and cooperation through mutual 
benefit," she added.
