El gobierno de Cuba observa con profunda preocupación las enormes presiones que desde el exterior se ejercen hoy frente a las medidas adoptadas por el gobierno que encabeza el presidente Eduardo Duhalde, que buscan una salida a la dramática situación existente. Se ha puesto en evidencia la falta de comprensión y solidaridad de algunos gobiernos y empresas transnacionales, del sistema financiero internacional y sus instituciones. La vitrina donde la filosofía neoliberal exhibió a la Argentina se ha quebrado. En ese país han quedado expuestas las verdaderas intenciones de los depredadores de nuestros pueblos de América. Es vergonzoso el egoísmo y la mezquindad con la que se conducen aquellos que han sido los principales responsables de la postración del pueblo argentino. Las empresas y bancos que obtuvieron jugosas ganancias con el sudor y el sacrificio de ese pueblo hermano, los especuladores y ladrones que saquearon el patrimonio de esa nación y que llevaron al país a la bancarrota, y los gobiernos de algunos países desarrollados que presionan hoy en defensa de sus intereses, deberían aceptar que el pueblo argentino merece la oportunidad de levantarse. El momento que vive la sociedad argentina demanda la solidaridad y el respeto de todos. La hora actual tiene que ser de comprensión y no de presiones, de apoyo a las medidas, por demás legítimas, que está tratando de aplicar el nuevo gobierno para evitar la bancarrota definitiva del país. Cuba expresa su confianza en que el pueblo argentino pueda superar la difícil situación en la que hoy se encuentra y su simpatía y apoyo a todas aquellas decisiones del gobierno argentino que efectivamente conduzcan a la defensa irrestricta de los intereses nacionales, incluida la recuperación de la producción y la industria nacional, la promoción de sus exportaciones, la generación de empleos, la protección de sus trabajadores, la imprescindible y necesaria integración al MERCOSUR y el mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida de su pueblo.
