Zionist Zealots Biting the Hand that Feeds Sharon Via NY Transfer News * All the News That Doesn't Fit [The rabid Zionists of the United States are that way partly because they know they are despised by Jews who actually live in Israel. They give their money to the UJA, they take their vacations to the Promised Land, but they know that their brethren hold them in supreme contempt for their comfortable lifestyle here in Disneylandia. Their own guilt goads them into their easy bloodthirstier-than-thou act. They don't have to live with the consequences.-- NY Transfer] USA'S Zionist Zealots: Biting the Hand that Feeds Sharon Wow. The pro-Zionist zealots at a big "let's all egg the Israelis on" rally shouted down Paul Wolfowitz, of all people, when he mentioned the Palestinians and did not include "murderous dogs" in the sentence. Un-fucking-believable. Wolfowitz has been the loudest of the appointed saber-rattlers, cheerfully retyping Mossad "hey, let's you and them fight" reports about Iraq onto his letterhead, with his first draft apparently typed up sometime a few weeks ahead of 911, given the polish already brought to the tale when he began telling it immediately after the attacks. His administration has only briefly wavered, and then only for temporary diplo reasons (during the time when Cheney was in the region, and then just before the meeting with Tony "lapdog" Blair, who needed some kind of bone to carry home to Merrie Olde England so he could claim to have moderated Bush) in its support of whatever Israel would like to do. Offer the Palestinians a few bantustans, completely encircled by Israel and divided up to prevent movement within the purportedly 'autonomous' region and call it a legit offer of a state? Sure, we'll do that; roll tanks into Jenin and cut Arafat off completely, then blame him as suicide attacks continue - clearly utterly beyond his control, that being the *point* of the isolation to begin with? Sure, we'll do that. Oh, and now that Tony's out of town, we'll hang Colin Powell out to dry as well, making it clear that we support whatever escalation you choose for as long as you feel a need for it. You needn't listen to Colin, he's there as - let's face it - our houseboy and he doesn't speak for us so much as fetch and carry for us. So, Wolfowitz gives his talk and mouths a few platitudes that he himself doesn't believe - and the audience is too stupid to be in on the joke. They can't even let them go by, thereby at least giving window dressing to tolerance. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-US-Israel-Rally.html AP via The New York Times - April 15, 2002 Wolfowitz Booed at Pro - Israel Rally by the Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Bush administration official was interrupted and booed Monday when he told thousands of people gathered at the Capitol for a pro-Israel rally that Palestinians as well as Israelis have been victims of Mideast violence. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz was drowned out by chants of "no more Arafat" and booed as he told the crowd that "innocent Palestinians are suffering and dying as well. It is critical that we recognize and acknowledge that fact." Wolfowitz, the second-ranked official at the Pentagon, was one of dozens of speakers at what sponsors said was the largest pro-Israel rally ever staged in this country. Tom Schottenstein of Columbus, Ohio, said he left home at 11 p.m. Sunday night with a group of 300. "We wanted to show our support" for Israel, he said. "It's very frustrating not to be able to do anything." Most of the speakers conveyed a strongly pro-Israel message: "We will stand with Israel, we will stand for freedom," said House Democratic leader Dick Gephardt of Missouri, speaking before an array of U.S. and Israeli flags on the steps of the Capitol Building. "We can't expect Israel to stand idle while its citizens are being slaughtered," said Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, the Senate's No. 2 Democrat. Wolfowitz, too, voiced strong support for Israel's fight against terrorism. He said President Bush was horrified by the carnage in Israel and had asked Wolfowitz to represent him and stress that "terrorism must end. Hatred of Israel must end." But many at the rally showed little sympathy with Wolfowitz's further message that the majority of Palestinians also want an end to violence and that "hard decisions must be made by both sides to achieve a lasting peace." He was forced to stop speaking several times to wait for the crowd to quiet down. Among the other speakers were former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Housing Minister Natan Sharansky, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney and New York Gov. George Pataki. Netanyahu was cheered when he said that "Arafat does not want a Palestinian state next to Israel; he wants a Palestinian state instead of Israel." Americans know, he said, that "Yasser Arafat is nothing more than Osama bin Laden with good P.R." An unusual April heat wave sent temperatures well into the 80s, and Fire Department spokesman Alan Etter said several dozen people were examined for heat exhaustion and many were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The rally was sponsored by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the United Jewish Communities. ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us 339 Lafayette St., New York, NY 10012 http://www.blythe.org e-mail: nyt@blythe.org ================================================================= nytmid-04.16.02-21:46:41-15175
