EDITORIAL: THE PEOPLE'S WAR ADVANCES AND IS UNSTOPPABLE

Luminous, brilliant and unbendable, the People's War continues to advance; the wagon of history cannot be stopped. Our people know this consciously and thoroughly, as they continue to struggle for a new dawn.

Luminous and brilliant, the People's War saps the old State and its reactionary appendages, the opportunists and revisionists who in their myopia, sold out their souls and the people they fooled for a plate of lentils. Now, as reckoning gets near, they are only able to lash out desperately, in their sad useless endeavor to contain and stop the historic development of the class, the proletariat.

The People's War has advanced in all aspects. Their dream of the police and armed forces annihilating us, has failed. They have failed and continue to fail, as they have always been. "They are very brave to kill unarmed masses, but very cowardly to die." They have designed and carried out every genocidal method to quench the revolutionary storm, especially murdering and burning entire villages, presenting their unarmed civilian victims as "killed guerrillas, "or presenting some kidnapped peasants as "captured guerrillas." Cowardly, they have carried out [the counterinsurgency tactic] of confronting masses against masses. Thus, they present themselves before their imperialist masters as "victorious warriors," and eager lap dogs seeking recognition in a war that they have already lost.

With their revolutionary struggle, the people showed them how impossible it is to extinguish the flames of the revolution. The black heads used as parapets by the amed forces [TNF: paramilitary groups in the countryside known as mesnadas, committees of civil defense, rondas or yana humas] only got themselves annihilated. Hence, the people organized against their will in armed rondas and have been gradually deserting the ranks of the enemy. Then they join the ranks of the People's Army of Liberation (EPL), thus continuing to develop the course of history.

Sunk in its worst political and economic crisis, the old State is in the midst of the worst levels of corruption, in which the genocidal armed forces not only protect the drug traffickers (e.g., El Vaticano, Tijero, Cachiche Rivera and others), but nowadays, are themselves in charge of transporting the drugs: Witness the case of the Peruvian Air Force plane in which 177 kg. of basic coca paste were found; or the similar case involving Fujimori's personal plane. So, of what "moralizing" is the genocidal dwarf Fujimori able to speak about? As we know, all the people around him, such as his old cronies, and other servants of this old, decrepit and putrid State, get filthy rich in the name of and at the expense of the people; such as Ana Kanashiro, the Chief of INABID [TNF: State Insurance Agency]. On the other hand, his failed economic plan of reactivation takes us to the edge of desperation, as it only causes more hunger and misery to our people, who are incorporating themselves in droves to the People's War. Trying to prevent it, the genocidal armed forces and police see no better solution to this problem other than to continue with the brutal, savage and bloody repression of unarmed civilians, which manages to fuel the revolutionary fire.

Since the Initiation of the Armed Struggle, the leader of our Party, President Gonzalo, urged all of the fighters never to lower the banner of revolution, until Communism. Following his example and his thought, materialized as " Gonzalo Thought," the People's War marches unstoppably and gloriously toward the conquest of power in the entire country.

The foul psychological campaign developed by yankee imperialism, availed by the genocidal puppet Fujimori and implemented by the sinister Vladimiro Montesinos, has ended in failure. The "Peace Agreement" and its mentors, today more than ever, have become scattering ashes. The People's War will bury them all, as it will bury the genocidal armed and police forces of Peru, and thus, give the example for the world proletarian revolution to follow. The struggles of the people are rightful and just, and only by conquering power are the masses able to make history, because except for power all is an illusion.

The People's War that initiated in Nepal exploded in the face of all of the world reactionaries, who speechless and dumbfounded, saw clearly how MAOISM commands the great wave of the world proletarian revolution in the backward countries.

A brilliant perspective is dawning for the oppressed peoples of the world, and for our people, the birth of the People's Republic of Peru. The popular protest continues to grow as teachers, workers, students, municipal workers, housewives, ambulatory peddlers, trade unionists, are getting themselves ready for the time that President Gonzalo, the Communist Party of Peru, the Peoples Army of Liberation and our most important weapon, Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, Gonzalo Thought, will fulfill the tasks that our class is demanding. Then and only then will we reach our goal, which is Communism.
