In Peru, the confrontation between revolution and counterrevolution causes the class struggle to develop in a very ferocious manner. As part of this bloody struggle, the reactionaries have been unleashing desperate psychological offensives in their attempts to stop the People's War. These crude and mediocre campaigns have failed.Contrary to their wishes, the PCP gets stronger and the People's War expands throughout the country. The ideas of President Gonzalo are spreading worldwide and have definitely an impact in today's revolutionary movement as the greatest living Marxist in today's world. That's the reason why the rotten regime of Fujimori and his Yankee advisors tried to assassinate the character of President Gonzalo by first showing him as a depraved, psychotic and alcoholic man, finally as a vulgar capitulator. To this end, all kinds of tricks and high-tech video manipulations (e.g., movement and image) of a supposedly "captured" video film, in which he is shown dancing, have been presented as evidence by the intelligence services.
The second "proof" was presented by murderer Fujimori at the United Nations. This was more sinister and vicious than the first case. It consisted of photocopies of a cut and paste "peace letter" timely denounced by the PCP Central Committee as a counterrevolutionary hoax. Even the reactionary publications (e.g., magazine Caretas) called this letter to be a farce. The shameful reports of mercenary journalists from the Peruvian papers such as "Onda," "Idolo," "Nacional," "La Nacion," "El Ma¤anero," "La Republica," as well as the relentless campaigns of Channel 2 (Frequencia Latina), Channel 9, Radio Cora, Radio Miraflores among others, was not enough to convince the people. As expected, these means of communication distilled their class hatred against the development of the Maoist rebellion on a full time basis at least during 15 days immediately after the arrest of President Gonzalo. Who believes Fujimori in the first place? His own wife called him a vicious lair. This lackey of imperialism lied about his age, birth place (he wasn't even Peruvian!), about his name (Kenyo not Alberto), taxes, businesses and drug dealings through his brother Santiago and Vladimiro Montesinos.
Elaborating all sorts of hypotheses and myths, the reactionaries, through their agents Carlos Tapia, Degregori, Raul Gonzales, Javier Diez Canseco, Enrique Bernales and others, sustained with very loose bones that an "intense struggle" was taking place in the midst of the PCP, and that "the myth has fallen." According to these scribes, even the fall of the PCP and the end of the war could be "foreseen" in the short term. In a chorus with the armed forces, they screamed that, "Sendero was strategically and politically defeated."
All these fabrications, one after another, sought nothing more than erode the prestige of the Party and its leadership in the struggle for Power. This dark design by reaction has fallen into a broken sack due to the development of the People's War at a national level.
Flakes such as Trotskyte Nicolas Lucar in his digression and brainy anti-PCP "reports," does nothing but corroborate once again that the Maoist revolution advances and develops in both quality and quantity. Despite their triumphal poses, even the genocidal country seller Fujimori, with his erratic arguments, ratifies the development of the People's War in our country.
In its desperation to sell a "winning image" to the world in a war they have been losing from 1980 to the present, the murderous regime of Fujimori has also implemented, as its "creative" counterinsurgency plan, a ridiculous "law of repentance" in 1993. For this purpose, first they used the mass desertion in the ranks of armed revisionism (MRTA) in the Department of San Martin, and then it released a report on the "real situation of the Ashaninkas" (in the Town of Cutivireni) prepared by SIN and published by the progovernment outlet Expreso. They made it appear in the press as if the mass desertions of the revisionists corresponded to PCP members. This was a crude hoax of the falsely called "serious communications media" that has only exposed before the cameras, conspicuous capitulators and agents, accomplices of butcher Fujimori, along with despicable revisionist elements. On the indiscriminate strafing from planes and helicopters on the Ashaninka lands (strongholds of the People's War), they tried to nail the PCP for their own crimes. That was a shameful psycho social war. It did not last long because of the counterattack of the Ashaninka combatants of the People's Army of Liberation. They broke out the army encirclement.
THE LAW TO COVER TRAITORS AND COUNTERREVOLUTIONARY AGENTS
In his unrefrainable stupidity, the mediocre Fujimori once again pretended to have the people swallow the laughable tale of the PCP's "internal split." Since Ayacucho, this known trick goes together with the black lies about the "desertion," "great captures," "repented ones"and other nonsense.
AGAIN THE TALE ABOUT "THE INTERNAL DIVISION." According to the regime's analysts and "senderologists" -who have no knowledge at all of the PCP's internal matters, a "strong struggle" is taking place in what they call the "Shining Path" between the political line and the military line. This psycho social game was the predecessor of others games that the intelligence services put forward later, as "Sendero is split," "Feliciano vs. Gonzalo," "pro- peace talks vs. dissidents," "red Sendero vs. black Sendero," "two-line struggle on peace talks." Contrary to what they believe, said political idiots have no idea that the two-line struggle is the key to the development of the Party itself, and that all struggle takes place under the general political line sanctioned by the First Congress of the PCP. This means that the PCP two-line struggle focusses on the development of the People's War, which is the preparation for the strategic offensive of the People's War toward the conquest of Power countrywide.
The psycho social campaigns of reaction seek to break the most intimate emotional mechanisms of the masses in a frenetic attempt to impose and organize the population against the Maoist rebellion. In the context of this vile campaign are the feared tales about "Sendero kidnaped children," "it takes peasant hostages," "eyes gauged and blood sucked by Sendero," and the endless "capture of leaders," etc.
PUBLISHING OF FALSE RUMORS IS THE PRELUDE FOR GENOCIDE
Lately, as part of the split in the reactionary camp, some important tools of reaction who were used to elaborate and publish schemes against the People's War (e.g., La Republica, Frequencia Latina, Radio Miraflores, etc.) are exposing some crimes of the intelligence service (their former handler.)However, as a representative of the big bourgeoisie and a faithful servant of Yankee imperialism, the regime still has the support of the "means of communication" to continue its psycho social operations against the people. At the same time, in the face of the continuous defeats at the hands of the PCP in the battlefields, the reactionary armed forces continue drowning in blood entire unarmed populations in the countryside. All the above is an indicator of how reaction marches assuredly to its defeat.
Why all this secrecy? Why the cowardly silence of the international organizations? After four years of his "disappearance," the question on the whereabouts of President Gonzalo is back in full strength in Peru and abroad. The last time the regime officially mentioned his name, was during a Session of the United Nations in New York on October 1, 1993. At the time, Fujimori showed the press a handwritten letter claiming that he has "capitulated." This was the first move in a classical psychological operation aimed at portraying the PCP as a "decapitated" organization and above all, "split." Soon thereafter, the same reactionary Peruvian Press was questioning the authenticity of the letter. The Central Committee of the PCP denounced it as a hoax. The political and military operations intensified nationwide, demonstrating that the Central Committee was solidly in control of the Party and the generated organizations inside and outside the country.
WHERE IS CHAIRMAN GONZALO? From the beginning, the world public opinion and supporters of the revolution have questioned the validity of this clear psychological operation, and there is absolutely no evidence of the involvement in any shape or form of Chairman Gonzalo in this affair. Oiga, a bourgeois Peruvian magazine, was the first in opening this pandora's box of suspicions about the authenticity of the peace letters. It said that if the PCP leader has ever signed such letters, "that may have been drugged with tablets or injections." Even former President Fernando Belaunde Terry has said that the letters "awake well-grounded suspicions of blatant manipulation of SIN." The Peruvian weekly magazines "Si" and "Caretas" exposed even further the gross fabrication, "these letters were concocted using four drafts, some of which were elaborated by a Commission of SIN operatives." Psychiatrist Segisfredo Luza (a German-trained psycho social specialist) and CIA men's Montesinos and Merino were identified as part of the SIN Commission. Let's recall that Luza's home was bombed by the People's Army just after Fujimori announced the "peace letters" in the UN.
On the other hand, there was sufficient evidence presented in theory and practice by the PCP that the claim of the regime was a farce. Fujimori himself has recognized that "operation capitulation" has failed. That's been precisely why, after all these years, the dictatorship continues without presenting Chairman Gonzalo in good health. It doesn't even allow visits with his lawyers, friends, relatives, and the international organizations, in willful violation of the Peruvian and international law.
We should be concerned. In the early 1990s, Fujimori told a journalist of Reuters that he personally dropped a "subversive" (alive) from a military plane. Recently, he showed the world his criminal behavior on TV when he stepped on the dead bodies of several youngsters after the military assault on the Japanese Embassy. He did the same thing after the genocide of 100 political prisoners in the jail of Cantogrande. That's not being "tough on terrorists" as the New York Times frequently portrays him, that's being a coward and a plain murderer of people who have their hands chained.
Therefore, we must think the worst, that this is another criminal action on the part of the Peruvian regime. At the very least, it is pertinent that the international organizations (International Red Cross, ICHR, etc.) consider Chairman Gonzalo as a "disappeared person," and demand from the regime full compliance with the international treaties it has signed. With regard to this matter, the position of the PCP is public knowledge. Fujimori, his cronies in the armed forces, and all his puppeteers know very well, that they will be held fully accountable if anything at all happens to President Gonzalo. They will be crushed by their own fears and be converted into scathered black ashes! Only the people judge and punish the criminals!
